Congrats for the Backyard Biodiversity project. As a child growing up in the Bay Area in the 1950-60s, the Cal Academy was an inspiration to me....I attended meetings of the Pan-Pacific Entomological Society when I could get transport from my home in Petaluma.
Now, as a recent retiree from the Entomology faculty at the U. of Florida, I am reconnecting again for inspirations to bring insects (and remove the ick-factor) to the public, through my local botanical garden in Ft. Pierce FL.
